Every year we start December off on December 1 with a little celebration called Little Christmas. The kids pick each others names and get them a little gift and we exchange gifts and talk about how fun and rewarding it is to give presents and not just look forward to receiving. We talked about how even though you may get something that you do not want a lot of thought goes into the gift and you should always say thank you anyway. Zack obviously was not too excited about the very much needed new pairs of underwear that he received. Carley was a little more spoiled this year because I had a Cbristmas dress for her and wanted to give it to her at the beginning of the season so I just did it that night. The kids love to do the 12 days of Christmas for a family in the neighborhood. This really helps them focus their energies on giving to the family each day and not on what they are wanting to receive for Christmas. They love running and dropping the gift on the doorstep and hoping they do not get caught. Kevin's father served his mission in Finland many years ago and brought this tradition back with him from there. They have been doing Little Christmas for many years.

That is a fun tradition. I can't wait until we start doing our own traditions too.
Ha! This picture cracked me up. Poor Zack I wouldn't be happy with the underwear either. Oh well that's the breaks being the only boy!
