Mansions and Marathons

Our friends Mike and Brenda came out to Boston to run the Boston Marathon in April. We met them down there and was able to watch them race and then take them down to see the mansions in Newport, RI.
The Vanderbuilts were so wealthy these are called their summer cottages. The mansions are built along the ocean so there is a beautiful cliff walk behind the homes.

Mike ran a 2:52 marathon so he was a little sore walking around. He was a trooper. It was fun to see how they used to live in the early 1900s.

This was a playhouse in the back yard of one of them. They really liked to bring other cultures to the decore of their home.

We had a great time with Mike and Brenda and were so glad that they were able to come and see a part of New England. Newport Beach is one of my favorite places to go.
