She decided to start from the very first step. Gathering eggs...we had a friend that let her come and collect 12 eggs from him to incubate. 
Another friend let us borrow their incubator. We just happened to be going to Utah during the incubation time and so we asked another dear friend if she could turn the eggs three times a day for 21 days. She was so nice to do this for us.
When we returned from Utah, the baby chicks began to hatch. We ended up having 8 out of the 12 survive. Brooke was able to use the growth information for her research paper.
We actually had another great friend have a little chicken coop that we borrowed and the chicks were able to grow and flourish in it.
Carley would play with them time to time when Brooke would let them out of the coop.
These are the chicks right before we gave them away to our dear friends that let us borrow the chicken coop. They raise chickens and get their eggs and then they end up eating them.
